Brenda Futa had completely moved on from the death of her ex-husband. Erik brought her the stability and peace that she needed.
Their mutual desire for a family meant that their life goals were in sync.

Shortly into the season, Elizabeth became a toddler.

The King/Futa family remained drama-free.
Her third child, Emily Futa, seemed almost identical to Elizabeth. Almost indistinguishable to the naked eye. But Brenda could tell the difference.

And they were growing up so fast right in front of her eyes.
This wasn't the kind of peace she would have ever found with Alan King. She could now admit her first marriage was a mistake.
Having reached the top of the architecture career was also something she never envisioned for herself, but she was happy to do it.
When Anthony became a teenager, his first instinct was to be everyone's friend. Combine that with a penchant for intelligence as you have a teenager who wants to run 5 top level businesses.
